Cross Country

On Monday I took part of our NPS Cross Country.  The first second i woke up I felt like spewing because of how nerves I was. I was second guessing myself from choosing to go because I was feeling really sick.

The thing that motivated me to go is that it was my last year and i might not ever have the chance to participate in this again.

When I got there it took me a while to feel right again and when I finally felt better I felt like I had the most energy ever!

When I was counting down the races until my race every age that increased made my saw awakening stomach come back. When it was my race I felt like I had to go toilet badly but the stretchers Mr Fraser made us do made me take my mind of what I was about to do.

When the motorbike drove of and Mr Fraser said go I printed off. barely keeping my balance I make sure to stay ahead. Every time I finished one of the laps it gave me a boost of confidence to keep going. For the whole way it was a race between Summer and I to see who would win. As soon as I reached the killer hill I knew that it was going to be a challenge. My ribs felt like they were braking and my legs felt like they were collapsing.

When I got to the top of the killer hill I saw that Summer wasn't to far ahead of me so I desided to sprint it. At the time I wasn't thinking on how steep it was because all I was thinking is to stay ahead. As soon as I saw that I passed more than one people I knew that I had to keep going.

Finally, it was the last lap. I made sure to keep running and not stop. I saw that I had just over lapped a couple of boys. I was pleased to see  that I was doing way better than last year. When it got to the final bit of the race I knew that I had to use the rest of my energy.

I saw that Summer was starting to catch up and heard my mum yelling to me that as well. All the cheering and support that people were yelling gave me way more hope to finish this.

As soon as I reached the finish line I had a look at my stick to see what I came. I came 10th! 10th is a high placing for me considering that I was coming second to last in the races last year and I felt so proud of myself.
