We started off by getting to know the lifeguards and learning how to stay safe in the water.
We then split up into two groups and headed down to the lifeguard's tower and learned about what the lifeguards do and how they communicate when someones in trouble. After that, we got back as a group and headed down to the beach and did some fun activities. The first activity that we did was seaweed and it was a bit of a challenge because I found it really hard to run in the sand so it was really easy to slip over.
The next activity that we did was beach flag which is a game when you lye on your tummy and then when the whistle blows yo race to get a flag/pole. the last activity we did was in the water and we had to run around all the parents and we had to do dolphin dives, high ness and also splash the parents in the water. After all the activities we finally got to have a swim in the water.
The key things I learned
- Rips only take you out to the end of the last crashing wave.
- If you want to be a lifeguard you can start at the age of fourteen
- Slip Slop Slap Rap Slide Stomp Stamp Smear
