Last Friday it was the Learning in the making Conference. I did four things, claymations, tie dye, maths challenge and science.
The first thing I did was claymations. Claymations is when you make something out of playdough and then take 30 photos on this special website. Summer, Anna-Louise and I made a cat, two bowls, a mouse and wool. It didn't really work out that well, but it was really fun!
The second thing we did was Sharpie tie dye. Sharpie tie dye is when you have Sharpie, a cotton T-shirt, one glass and this special alcohol from the pharmacy. I didn't finish it but I can do it at home. I designed a flower, these spots and some other creations.
The third thing I did was maths challenge. For maths challenge I did timetables and algebra. I found algebra quite hard but I learnt how to do it. I found doing the timetables a little bit hard because there was 12 timetable but I still got 45 out of 59.
The last thing I did was science. For science we tried to use a battery, a nail and wire to lift a paper clip. When we joined the wire to the to battery it burnt my finger. Our teacher gave us a clue of how we could do it and then it ended up that we could hold about ten paper clips!
My favourite thing to do was sharpie tie dye because we could create really cool stuff and create with our own imaginations.
That was what I did for learning in the making conference and I can't wait till next year.
Hi I am Ella, I am a year 8 student and I go to Ngatea Primary. Welcome to my blog.
