This week I have achieved a lot of stuff and some of that stuff is art. This week I started my good copy of my zentangle art. Then for our silhouette art, we are cutting out the circles, and soon we will have to PVA glue it all together, and then do another coat to make it shiny!


This week I am excited because it is the second to last week of school! Altogether, I think that I had a fun week!

Weekly reflection

 This Week I have done a lot of things, and one of those things is art. For art, we are doing giant life-size silhouettes of ourselves doing something. It can be anything that you can do. Then inside of the silhouette, you put marble paper of your color choice and then cut them into circles.

This week I have also achieved my Give A Little Milestone.

I have also been doing saxophone. I am really excited to perform our pieces in prize giving because I have memorized all my songs. The pieces that we are doing at Prizegiving is Barbaranne and Mamma Mia. I love doing the mama mia song

I am really excited for next week and I am hoping to achieve another milestone.

This week I felt really well managed because I completed lots of things on Wednesday and all I had to do was my weekly reflection. On Tuesday the Whetu kids who didn't make it into HP Athletics came to our class for most of the day. Something I achieved this week was my learning profile. Something I am hoping to achieve next week is my Give a little milestone.

This week was a very fun but tiring week because on Tuesday we had athletics for the whole day!
The most exciting thing for me that happened was athletic because I love doing high jump and long jump. For high jump, I got up to 1.15 meters!

My least favorite part of this week was going to the dentist because I had to have a exray.

Summer

The person I spent the most time with was Summer.  She has short, dark brown hair. She has blue eyes and she is really funny. She loves long jump and showing calves at Calf Club. I was with her most of the holidays and we only mist 3 days without seeing each other.

Term Reflection

I really enjoyed volleyball because I had never done it before and I found out that I was good at serving. I also liked being with the year, 12 students, because if I saw them again in tech  I would be able to recognize them.

I really Learning in the making because this time for it I was able to lead 4 workshops and go to 4 workshops.
We also got to do it for 2 days!

I really enjoyed Pet Day because I got to take my cat (Smokey)  and I got to show her to heaps of people.

I would change having the Volleyball and make the tournament the whole day because I love doing Volleyball!

My goal next term is to complete my language Milestone because I still haven't completed it.

Pet Day

      Smokey The Brave And Instant Cat

Once there was a cat called Smokey. She was was a chubby grey cat that always had a suspicious look on her face. Every time she comes inside her eyes would be as open as an owl in the dark and I would know she has done something wrong.

Smokey always loved to be crazy and she would run over the house. 

Whenever she would want attention she would pat me on the leg.

Volleyball

For the last few weeks, I have been playing volleyball with my leaning team and our three coaches, Josh, Morgan, and Paige.
I learned a lot about volleyball like all the technics and to communicate with your team otherwise you will probably drop the ball.
My favorite banished was being the server and Josh called me the golden server!
The most favorite game I played was my first game because I learned a lot in that game and I got to serve a lot.
I was quite sad when the last game finished because I wanted to play another game and also because we have to wait until next year.

This week I am proud that I have achieved a lot of goals and I have been working on my math goal I am starting to understand all of them.

This week I enjoyed having the little kids with us. The reason why we had the little kids with us was that their teachers had all gone to visit a school in Taronga. I enjoyed it because we got to do 2 kahoot quizzes and we also got to make characters out of anything then do a character description about it.
I definitly had to uses my connecting power when the moana kids came in because you would have to see what they like.

Something I enjoyed this week was Cross Country because it was really muddy and we did a new course.

Something I found challenging about Cross Country was when we were going down the hills because it was really muddy and I kept slipping over.

Something that was fun About Cross Country is when I was helping the little kids because I like encouraging people and I got to do an extra race. I goal I have set myself is not to stop next time because I really want to get into Hauraki Plans Cross Country

Something I found challenging was the word of the week because for the word volume there were three meanings instead of two and one of the sentences I did was really challenging.

Something I enjoyed was when Melisa Ingram because she talked to us about how she got to the Olympics and told us her story.

My goal for next is to complete my language milestone because i have almost finished it.

Something I am looking forward to is Cross Country because I have be working hard on the block run and I get to do the killer hill!

It was and nice sunny day when the sky wasn’t grey, so we went to the park. When we were at the park we saw a man named Mark with his dog called Max, so played with Max and then we saw a man with an ax. We went to the man with an ax and he said if we wanted to play with his son named bax. We played with bax and he saw some trees with lots of flax, so we went to the trees with flax and we told some funny facts. After we said some funny facts we decided to go home and have a snack.

What is it I hope I will come to understand more deeply through this inquiry?	I would like to know more about cows because some people ask me stuff about cows and sometimes i don’t really now, so when I do some research I will probably be able to answer most of the questions.
What knowledge might I need to help move towards this understanding?	I would first probably have to use the knowledge about what all ready know about cows.
What is it I hope to be able to do more competently?   What skills will I need to learn (skills)	I will have to use the skill to not give because in some stage it is going to be really challenging and I can never give up! I will also have to use the skill to ask for help if I need it because sometimes I get stuck and I just sit there thinking.
What learning powers will this inquiry help me practice and develop further?  (Explain this)	I need to use my resilience because i can sometimes find it way to hard and then I just change my question. I also need to use my being me power because I need to come up with my own ideas and do it how I want to do it.

Persuasive Writing

I think it is really important that we have dairy farms because it is the best way that we get nice fresh milk and farmers get to spend time with their animals.

I am writing about this topic because I have seen on the news that people are making milk that is not produced by cows. They are making milk that tastes like the cow tasting milk with some special recipe, why don’t they just let the cows make the milk and let the farmers farm?

What happens if they sell the milk and everyone ends out buying it, what will happen to the cows on the dairy farms, what will happen to the dairy factories like Fonterra and Meadowfresh?

What I think will happen is that we won't need dairy farms any more and the farms will have to be sold to the chinese that want our creek water, what will happen then?

I bet that the dairy farmers are going to have to sell their cows and they would have to find a new house and a new job. Wouldn’t you hate to know what that would be like!

If you don’t want that happen then when they do sell it, please remember to think about the dairy farms and buy the real cow milk!

This week I really enjoyed the jump jam because we got to see the man who runs it and we got to do heaps of jump jams.

Something I found hard was my word of the week drawings because I kept mucking up the face and I got quite annoyed.

The goal I have set is to complete my Language Milestone because I am very close to finishing it.

Something I have achieved this week was my persuasive writing and I did mine on dairy farms.

This week has been a very different week because Miss Williams came back and  we had to do a different word of the week as well.

The thing that I really enjoyed this  week was doing the reflection with Miss Williams  because we got to eat M&Ms because there was each coloured M&M had a thing that you had to reflect on.

Something I found hard was doing my bookmark because it was quite hard to draw.

My goal that i want to achieve is  finishing my narrative writing because I have been struggling a little bit with it.

Weekly Post

I am having a fun time being back at school because there is heaps of activities and lots of things have changed.

One of the things that I am really enjoying is our PE for Cross Country training because there is heaps of fun things to do and it a great way to get fit.

The thing that I need to work on is my Mangahigh because last term I was at the top of the leader board but now that it was the holidays, I am at the bottom because I lost heaps of points.  

I found the Cross Country training hard because I got really tired but I still pushed myself to the highest limit I could and never gave up.

The highlight for this week would be having a new learning team because I get to work with new people and we get to design another logo.

Gym sport

I really enjoyed Gym sport because it was really new for me and it was a whole lot of fun.

I found the beam really challenging because it was way higher than the one we have at school and I was having trouble getting on it.

The thing it could work on for gymnastics is being able to do a backward roll into a stretch.

Next week I really want to complete my language milestone because I am so close to being done!

For me the highlight for this week was definitely gymnastics because I had a lot of fun and we did lots of activities.

I enjoyed this week a lot because I got to try a lot of new things and one of those new things was making puzzle block out of wood at tech. Something I found hard was the dominos because it was hard to do a spiral and the towers. I really enjoyed doing art because I had to paint and I love painting. This week I achieved one of my biggest goals and that was to be tuakana and for a few days I didn’t know that I was tuakana until I checked the board. I really enjoyed this week and i can’t wait for next week.

Weekly Reflection

The thing I found challenging was Manga-high because I had some hard tasks but I got bronze on three and silver on one. I am happy that I got a metal on each task.

I really enjoyed doing tech today because I worked with someone new and we got to make pickets. In tech I found it really funny how when I did my pickets they were nice and golden but the when my buddy did theirs the buried theirs.

The goal I achieved was to get first on the Manga high score board and I did it and now I have 160 points!

I had lots of fun this week and I wonder what we are doing next week.

My Birthday

I was finally counting down, the last time I would be eleven. I couldn't get to sleep, I was filled with excitement, joy and happiest.

Finally, I fell a sleep, the clock tick fast. soon it was 7 o'clock. I jumped out of bed and went to Mum. She put my gift on the table. I sat down and opened the bag. the box inside said Baby-G logo on it. It was a watch, hmm, but what one? I opened the box, it had a little tin inside. I was getting really excited! I opened the tin and it was a gold and black watch!

I shouted

"YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS"  

I look at Mum and said

“Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

After got my watch I asked Mum if she new were my shoes that she got me were and she didn’t know so I asked her if she could ring to ask Dad where he put my shoes so she did.

Mum said that they were in the laundry cupboard so she got them out for me and I put them on and then I put them on for school.

The Day I was able to do a backbend

I looked around and made sure know one was in my way. I lifted my arms up high and started to go back. My fingers started to touch the ground, soon my hand touched.

“I did a backbend”

I shouted.

They all said

“Yay”

After all that excitement I kept on doing backbends and now I can do them!

Now that I can do a backbend my next goals will be to do the slits a back walkover and a roundoff.

Smokey Bday

It was one kitty's special day, because it was Smokey's birthday! After 8

years of not knowing when it was her birthday was, we finally had help from Smokey's handy old pet passport. On the first page it said...

That how I found out it was Smokey’s 9th Birthday, but then I felt sad because Smokey is becoming a old cat and she is almost and decade! I thought she was only turning 7. After all that crazy stuff had happened I went to get Smokey's present out of the car and it was quite big.

When I got to the front door with the present it was really hard to get through the door, but after a while I finally got in and the brang the present in my room and waited for Smokey to come in and see what it was. When a hour passed by she finally came in, but when she walked in she just looked at it and then hopped on my bed and meowed at me! When I got quite impatient I picked her up and then put her in front of it to see if she would scratch on it. Since she didn’t scratch on it I put her in this little space where she could sit and sleep in but when I put her in she jumped right out!

Since she didn’t want to go in it I just decide to let her have a look at it by herself so I did.

Scientific Method-Balloon Magic

	What will happen to the balloon? What will the reaction be?
	It will explode The balloon will inflate because of trapped air It will go up like a rocket
	Materials: -Balloon -Baking Soda -Vinegar -Plastic Bottle -Funnel -Spoon FIrst use the funnel to add the baking soda to the balloon. Then put the vinegar in the bottle. Carefully put the balloon over the top of the bottle. Once you are ready lift the balloon upwards tipping the baking soda into the vinegar and watch what happens.
	When we added the baking soda into the vinegar, it made the balloon inflate.
	The balloon inflated when we added the baking soda because the carbon dioxide (CO2) created from the vinegar (an acid) and the baking soda (a base) was trapped, so it went up and the balloon inflated. Therefore our hypothesis was correct in thinking that the balloon would inflate.
